Up to ~40–50% lighter than steel bolts Titanium alloys (e.g., Grade 5 / Ti-6Al-4V) have a significantly lower density (~4.43 g/cm³ vs. ~7.85 g/cm³ for steel), resulting in noticeably lighter wheel bolts. This weight reduction decreases both unsprung and rotating mass. Very high strength-to-weight ratio Titanium offers tensile strength comparable to many high-strength steel alloys while being much lighter. This makes titanium bolts suitable for high mechanical loads. Excellent fatigue and temperature resistance Titanium alloys exhibit strong fatigue resistance and retain their mechanical properties across a wide temperature range, which is especially important under high brake and wheel temperatures.
